[slowakisch 'husaːk], Gustáv, tschechoslowakischer Politiker, * Dúbravka (heute zu Preßburg) 10. 1. 1913, ✝ Preßburg 18. 11. 1991; Slowake; Jurist, seit 1933 Mitglied der KPČ, führend in der slowakischen Widerstandsbewegung (zwischen 1940 und 1943 mehrfach verhaftet) und 1944/45 am Aufstand gegen die in der Slowakei stehenden deutschen Truppen und die von Deutschland abhängige Regierung unter J. Tiso beteiligt; 1945-51 hoher Regierungs-Funktionär; 1951 als Vertreter eines »bürgerlichen slowakischen Nationalismus« zu lebenslänglicher Haft verurteilt, 1960 begnadigt, 1963 rehabilitiert. 1968 stellvertretender Ministerpräsident; distanzierte sich vom Prager Frühling; 1969-87 Parteichef, wurde 1975 Staatspräsident und musste am 10. 12. 1989 auf Druck von Massenprotesten (Bürgerforum) zurücktreten; er wurde im Februar 1990 aus der KPČ ausgeschlossen.
